Network Space and Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council worked together to bring forward this strategic 28-acre site, located within Knowsley Industrial Estate comprising two adjacent plots acquired by Network Space from Uniq (St Ivel) and Yorkshire IMI.
Network Space was able to broker a deal between the respective landowners and in turn, facilitate development. Works were carried out to provide a new junction and environmental improvements to the A580, together with provision of an estate spine road.
Works commenced in April 2006 to deliver Phase 1, 43,000 sq ft of workspace in units ranging between 6,500–11,500 sq ft. A second phase of 49,000 sq ft commenced in April 2007. Both phases were aided by grant funding.
With support from Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, Network Space were able to provide the following:
- Support regeneration of the most deprived areas and most deprived wards by strengthening the economic base.
- Ensure that the development was delivered within an agreed programme and produces outputs agreed at the outset
- Ensure that local people were able to access the new job opportunities provided
The project completed in 2007 at a value of £12m.
