Situated on a Brownfield site on the fringe of St Helens Town Centre, Network Space successfully remediated the contaminated site and delivered 30,000 sq ft bespoke office accommodation over three storeys for St Helens Chamber of Commerce. This project was completed in 2009 at a value of £5.5m.
Public realm enhancement works have also been carried out including the provision of a tree-lined boulevard and resurfacing and general upgrade works around the existing canal.
The success of Chalon Way Enterprise Centre can be attributed to a close relationship with St Helens Chamber and their involvement from the early stages of the design process.
Network Space’s contemporary response fully adheres with the requirements of the Chamber that have evolved through the design stages.
Our experience of developing similar facilities was vital in helping us to understand how multi-occupied/managed office facilities function. Consequently, our proposal for the Enterprise Centre reflected tested designs rather than design concepts.
Network Space were pleased to commit to a local labour initiative ensuring that the contracts for the works were let to benefit local businesses and trades, therefore complimenting the overall ethos of the Enterprise Centre.
The project was supported by both ERDF and LEGI (Local Enterprise Growth Initiative) funding.
