About us
Network Space Ltd is a joint venture between property developers Langtree Group plc and national regeneration agency English Partnerships. It was established in 1999 by Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott to aid the regeneration of communities in the former English coalfields.
networkspace's initial development programme of 500,000 sq ft was delivered in partnership with Regional Development Agencies, Local Authorities, the Coalfield Communities Campaign and the private sector in the former English coalfield regions to provide high quality workspace accommodation for small to medium sized businesses.
The combination of public and private sector funding, coupled with an experienced development team, has created an effective development vehicle through which networkspace meets the needs of small and medium sized businesses in the local coalfield communities.
Following the successful delivery of the initial 500,000 sq ft to create 17 networkcentres within six years, the programme was extended in 2005 to deliver a further 200,000 sq ft over the next two years creating another five networkcentres.
networkspace is also examining the possibility of an exciting third phase, which will consider more comprehensive mixed-use developments incorporating networkcentres, linking with other local initiatives.
It is intended that these Network Villages will deliver high quality business space offering a blend of genuine local employment prospects, integrated with an exemplar residential scheme which provides diversity in housing choice, and open space of true benefit to the community.
